Inspirational Teen works hard to improve support for other young people with Dyslexia

An element of the work North West Ipswich Big Local Trust strives to do is to empower members of our community to improve services for others in the area. We have many examples of how well this is happening, here is just one of the latest:

Local resident & Diversity 2 Unity youth group member , Malakai Pearson, recognised the lack of support for children with dyslexia and wanted to take action. How does he know? Mal himself was diagnosed with the condition as a child and he and his family know first hand just how hard it can be to get vital support.

Over recent months Mal has been working with us to provide a support group, to offer the platform to discuss concerns and worries about dyslexia with young people and help them to understand what dyslexia is.

Before NWI BLT can commit to placing community funds to anything we look for as much up to date evidence as we can. For that reason we have put together a short survey. Please, if you, or someone you know has dyslexia, we encourage you to COMPLETE THE SURVEY

NW Ipswich receives Commendation Award from The Ipswich Society

The Whitehouse Skatepark has received an Ipswich Society Award of Commendation for improvements to architecture and design to the local area.

The Ipswich Society was founded in 1960 and is a community of people who care about the appearance, character and well-being of the town, its past and its future.

We are really proud of this recognition and encourages us to think about the work we do, on an artistic and visual level.
